Jasmine Kayne Currie (nee Cairns), born (1977-12-01) 1 December 1977 (age 46), is a Canadian mother, curling enthusiast, and community care worker.

Early life

Jasmine was born in Red Deer, Alberta on 1 December 1977 to Chester Garnett Cairns (born 1955) and a woman called Brenda who left when she was a year old. Jasmine has one full brother, Clinton Bryce Cairns (born 12 September 1976).

Jasmine was raised by Garnett and her step-mother Julie Jane Cairns (born 1958).

She also has three half-sisters from Brenda's side of the family.

Marriage and family

Jasmine was planning to go to New Zealand for a year, when on 1 December 2000 she went on a date with Ian Currie. They were engaged on 14 February 2001, married 19 April 2001, and had their first child, Grady, on 18 November 2001. As of 2019, she has never visited New Zealand.

As of 2020, she lives in Portage la Prairie.

Hobbies

Jasmine enjoys curling, and she is the former ladies' league curling champion of PLAP (Portage, aka P. la P.). As of 2019 she intends to obtain her certificate to teach yoga and teach from her house's new yoga studio.

Career

Since 2012, Jasmine works in the 4-person Portage la Prairie office of New Directions, a not-for-profit helping adults and children with cognitive intellectual disabilities live in their communities. As of 2019, she works as a Home Supervisor, dealing with staffing, "clinical", and schedules, within Portage la Prairie.

On 2 March 2019, with her colleague from New Directions, Taylor McNulty, she visited her cousin-in-law Michael Currie at his home in Bangkok, Thailand.
