Obituary

Trevor Joseph (Treasure Josup) Holmquist, age 20 years, lay his head to rest for the final time on Sunday, May 4, 2003.Trevor's short life was spent in Thunder Bay where he attended Pine Street and Forest Park Public Schools and graduated from Hammarskjold High in 2001. Since his graduation, Trevor had been employed by the Chronicle-Journal, Dominos Pizza and then Great West Timber. During his current lay off, Trevor was helping with the renovations at The Zoo where he had really been enjoying the work. As a young boy of four until the age of sixteen, Trevor spent a great deal of time on his skates. He lived and breathed for the game of hockey. Trevor's first season with Carrick Mighty Mites earned him Rookie of the Year and from then on he continually excelled at his game where, in 97/98, during his season with the Neebing Hawks, he was awarded the league's Most Valuable Player. Trevor also enjoyed soccer for many seasons with the V.P. organization; had tried baseball with the Current River Little League and football during his junior years of high school. His family thanks the many coaches who, through the years, often treated Trevor as a son or little brother of their own. Trevor was an easy going kid and had many friends. Over the years these friends became true and loyal with whom he shared the times, good and bad. They often frequented our home and three particularly have become extended family members. Thank you so much Shaun, Willy and Logan for always being there. There was a very special and unique bond Trevor shared with each and every family member. He always brought a smile to their faces, a hug and a joke, or a game of cards to share. One of his favourite past times was baking with his 'Grammie'. Many people lost a piece of their heart on this day. Trevor will be forever missed by mom Wendy; loving sister Melissa and father Ted (Norma Lynn); forever cherished by Grandma and Grandpa (Joyce and Dick) Paavi; never to be forgotten by aunts and uncles: Sue and John Biancospino, Lorrie and Richard Peltola, Lianne and Glenn Cymbalisty, Rick and Jackie Renick, great aunt Lempi and Grandma Whitefish; cousins: Jerid Peltola, Bryan and Brandon Biancospino, Colin and Shaun Cymbalisty and so many others in whose memories he will forever live. He was predeceased by his Nana and Papa (Elvie and Ted Sr. ) Holmquist; his Nannie Ethel Markall and uncle David Holmquist. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, officiated by Archdeacon Mark S. Conliffe. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday eveningfrom 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Trevor's memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 200 Van Norman Street (Crisis Response Program-Emotional Distress-Suicide Prevention). 'Trevor our love will be with you always'""
