Greg Gillis
Gregory Charles "Greg" Gillis (born 14 May 1959) is a Canadian actuary residing in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Early life
Gillis' mother was Marian Gillis, and his father was George Gillis. His grandfather was Alex Currie.
Professional life
On 9 May 1988 he was admitted as a fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
Gillis is a CFA Charterholder, as well as a qualified pension actuary. He joined Lawton Partners in 2004.
Prior to joining Lawton Partners in 2004, Gillis was a vice president with a global actuarial and benefits consulting firm, where he provided pension, actuarial, and investment services to individuals as well as businesses and organizations of all sizes.
As a lifelong Winnipegger, Gillis is committed to the economic and cultural success of the city. Over the years, he has served in various roles with the United Way, CNIB, and on a number of pension and investment committees of Winnipeg-based organizations.
Personal life
In about 1992, he married Margaret Dowler Redmond. Margaret was a lawyer with the Winnipeg Grain Commission, and as of 2019 is the President and CEO of the [Assiniboine Park Conservancy](https://www.assiniboinepark.ca/uploads/public/documents/annual-report-2019.pdf), a not-for-profit organization responsible for the operation of Winnipeg's historic Assiniboine Park and Zoo.
Together they adopted two daughters:
- Meagan Mai Redmond Gillis (born 2 July 2001)
- Jillian Jipin Redmond Gillis (born 8 February 2006)
According to his professional biography, as of 2018 Gillis and his wife "are raising two active daughters. As a family, they enjoy travelling and spending time at the lake. Greg also finds time to pursue hobbies including woodworking, sailing, and ultimate frisbee."
