Stephanie DePiero is a dancer and studio owner in Thunder Bay.

Career

Stephanie trained at the Fay Gleeson Dance Centre and many places out of town. [1]

She became a full-time teacher at International Dance Academy for one season 2014-5. [1]

In June and July 2015 she bought her own studio at 320 Bay Street, called the Dance Room, for room rentals, and franchised Army of Sass, an adult hip-hop exercise class. Since then she has created a large clientele at that business.

STEPHANIE DEPIERO BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND International Dance Academy is proud and excited to announce that STEPHANIE DEPIERO has joined our faculty. She brings much expertise in the fields of Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Performance Building to IDA.

Stephanie DePiero has been training and working in the performing arts industry for over 22 years. Her credits both as a performer as well as a director, instructor and choreographer speaks volumes for the amount of experience she has to offer her students.

Her education includes training in jazz, tap and ballet with Fay Gleeson Dance Center, under Cindy Kennedy, Laureen Currie and Donna Marie Barrata. She has several examination and certificated in jazz, tap and ballet with the Canadian Teachers Dance Association, Stephanie also received intensive summer program training at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet. After graduating high school she lived and continued her training aboard studying in hip hop, musical theatre, contemporary, ballroom, vocal and acting through Broadway Dance Center and Steps (New York), Edge Performing Art’s Center and Millennium Dance Complex (Los Angeles).

Through dance Stephanie has received scholarships with 5678 Showtime, Extreme Dance Convention and Los Angeles Dance Force (LADF).

Stephanie has worked and performed on film, television and promotional projects produced by Disney, Nickelodeon, Paramount, Much Music, Breakfast Television, YTV and Treehouse TV.

Stephanie theatre credits as a performer include Annie, Grease, Sound Of Music, On the Marquee and High School Musical.

She toured for one year with musician and motivational speaker Errol Lee.

Her theatre credits as a choreographer include; School of Rock: The Concert, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Hairspray, High School Musical: The Musical, Footloose, Annie, Sound Of Music, Beauty and the Beast and The Wizard of Oz.

In 2002, Stephanie created the BOUNCE Dance Convention which operated for 8 seasons hosting choreographers such Blake McGrath, Joshua Allen and Jesse Weafer from So You Think You Can Dance, Stacey Maroske, Heather Leslie, Jesse Catobog, Graeme Guthrie, Tara Beck, Noel Wosu and Nicolas Dromard.

While living in Toronto, Stephanie worked for several season with the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club.

Throughout the last 16 years Stephanie has taught, directed and worked with both professional and students at different ages and ability levels. At age 14 she was employed by the City of Thunder Bay as their first official hip hop instructor. She taught for the city for 4 years until she graduated high school. While living in Toronto Stephanie taught at Jaymor School of Dancing, MBS and City Dance Corps. She has also taught classes and choreographed for BOUNCE Productions and International Dance Academy.

Stephanie is dedicated to coaching those who are also passionate, determined and willing to commit themselves toward their training to achieve their goals as a performing artist.
