Cambrian Players: "Community of Theatre, Profile of Hans Warmenhoven (Lighting, etc.), Part 5 The contributions Hans made to the community went well beyond lighting and sound design. In 1980, he related, he and Laurent Goulet started running a Maclean Hunter TV show, “Best Seat in the House,” interviewing local creatives. It ran for ten years, LaRea Moody joining Hans when Laurent Goulet left town. Hans served as President of the Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre from 1982-1990, and sat from 1984-1990 on the Theatre Ontario Board. In recognition of his long and varied contributions to community theatre, in May, 2002, he received the Michael Spence Award. But another more personal accolade he cherishes came from a young woman fortuitously sitting next to him on a flight one day; she recognized Hans, to his surprise, and thanked him for his work with Eleanor Drury, as it had made such a difference to her to be part of the Children’s Theatre, growing up. Part 6 coming tomorrow!"

"We are forever grateful to Hans and his colleagues for the considerable effort it took to establish Eleanor Drury Children's Theatre as a place for children to experience the joy of live theatre. Your impact on the community is unending and today, almost 40 years later, EDCT continues to make a positive difference in the lives of youth in Thunder Bay." - Eleanor Drury Children's Theatre
