Mike Atherton, born 29 August 1946, is the husband of Lynn Newman.
Early life
His father was a married chef (Mr. Brassard) and his mother was a single woman waitress at the club. At the time he was born, his mother already had three children from an earlier marriage.
He was on his own with the mother until he was 4 and then her three children with her first husband came back to live with them. His siblings are, from oldest to youngest:

With her second husband she had a second child after Mike, but gave this child up for adoption.
Career
He has been a real estate agent in the Kelowna area since at least the late 1980s, until his retirement in 2019.
He retired in 2019 as a real estate agent with Sage Executive Group in Kelowna, British Columbia.
