Lee Vollum, left, at County Fair Plaza, 15 October 2012. The man standing beside him is likely his father Bob.

Lee Anthony Vollum (born circa 1984) is a longtime resident of Thunder Bay and is a childhood friend of Michael Currie.

Early life

Lee was born circa 1984 to television producer Robert Vollum (1933 - 19 March 2014) and his wife Lillian. Lee has three siblings: Chris, Patrick, and Julie.

Later life

As of 2009 he also enjoyed photography and playing board games.

Lee studied anthropology at Lakehead University. In May 2010 he graduated with a degree in "Honours Bachelor of Science - Anthropology" from the FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES. [1]

On 15 October 2012, Lee was a bystander when an elderly woman crashed her car through the bank window at TD Canada Trust at County Fair Plaza in Thunder Bay. He called the incident in to emergency services and spoke to reporter Leith Dunick of tbnewswatch afterwards.

On 9 June 2017, Lee graduated as "LIBRARY AND INFORMATION TECHNICIAN" with an "Ontario College Diploma" from Confederation College's "SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, HOSPITALITY & MEDIA ARTS", along with two other students: Anneke Dellaway and Chaundra Morabito. Dellaway and Morabito's graduations (but not Lee's) were asterisked as "pending completion of program requirements". Lisa Jack was listed on the faculty [?] as "student liason". [2]

As of 2018, Lee serves as Library Technician with Confederation College, the same institution where his mother Lillian worked.

Friendship with Michael Currie

Michael met Lee in about 1994 at a summer reading club at Waverley Public Library. Lee was interested in books by Florida comic Dave Barry.

Michael attended at least one of Lee's birthday parties. They both participated in a chess tournament in about November 1996, at the Airlane Hotel. Michael last saw Lee circa August 2001 at Michael's camp.
