Prior to moving to Hawaii with his wife in the mid 1970’s, he practiced medicine in Avon Lake, Ohio for over twenty years. He completed a second residency in Internal Medicine in Honolulu and joined a medical group on the Hawaiian island of Kauai after sampling other islands. Jack served as a U.S. Naval officer in the Pacific during World War II, after earning his MD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in Canada.
